Who am I?

My name is Gilliana and I have recently retrained to become a fitness instructor for the over 55s! I am registered with Fitness Australia

Registration number 166827

Classes on hold due to our friend Covid

My own fitness journey has been one of multiple changes and genres but at its core my fitness philosophy is to be fit for life so each decade I have prepared for the next decade.

Here I am a few days before Christmas 2018

Rhythm Ride

This image is taken inside the ride room at LAFit Studio; my favorite place to ride! Dec 2018

Hockey

My fitness journey started with field hockey played on a gravel pitch in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. Since then I have played hockey in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. I have won Gold many times playing for the Evergreens, a New Zealand team, Silver playing for the NSW Police and Bronze playing for WA Police!

Mountain Biking

I have competed in MTB races in New Zealand, winning Gold in my categories. Sometimes I won other prizes such as an extension cord, a lump of wood and money!!

These days

I no longer compete in sports but I am still keeping fit. I participate in Rhythm Ride (image above) and Megaformer – which is touted as pilates on steroids!

I love bodyweight exercises with some resistance added.

Lifestyle

I eat well; salads are my favourite meal! I enjoy Chardonnay and Shiraz, and sometimes a little Gerwerztraminer!

I don’t have pets but I do dog or cat sit from time to time.

I am Gigi to three grandbabies; identical twin boys and their baby brother, who sadly (for me) relocated to New Zealand just before Covid lockdowns 2020!
